about

My name is Tammy Hannaford.

I grew up in Rigolet, Nunatsiavut - an isolated Inuit community of about 300 people, on the north coast of Labrador.

Today I live in rural Ontario on 50 acres of land with my husband, 4 kids, a dog and a cat.

My husband is a carpenter and my kids are 4, 9, 10 and 12.

My dad is an Inuk from Rigolet, Nunatsiavut and my mom is a settler to the community - she came to Rigolet to work as a nurse in the late 70’s.

They are both beautiful people. I aspire to have my dads work ethic and my moms gentle and kind spirit.

I have one brother.  His name is Tim.

I miss home intensely but, I love my life here in Ontario.  My children visit my home often and learn from their grandparents the way my brother and I did.  They hunt seals, bears, birds, gather eggs and absorb traditional knowledge from my dad.  That’s important - very important.

I love to sew, paint, do minor carpentry and anything that involves being creative.  Creativity is my passion and I will always pursue it.

I quit my job at a bank so I could be around for the kids.  I started a little sewing/craft business so I could work from home.  I feel very fortunate to be doing what I love.

My family and I thank you for your interest and support in my creations.
